The New Eagle Lake

Growing up on the Texas Coastal Prairie, we always knew that Eagle Lake Texas was The Goose Hunting Capital of the World.

Well it ain't true no more. The Jonesboro Arkansas goose numbers dwarf the Eagle Lake numbers I saw in the early seventies.

I always wanted to go back in time and be able to use modern decoys, four wheelers and everything I had learned about goose hunting. I got my wish.

HUNTING TIPS

#1 

Use BBB or BB shot. 10 gauge is best, but 12 gauge is fine.

Wear something that will keep your backside dry on cold wet ground. Goose hunting is an extreme sport, and you are in the elements - be prepared.

Wear dark or white clothing. Do not wear hunter orange. Unlike deer hunting, we do not need to see each other since we are shooting in the same direction.
